When Hillary Clinton recently revealed her campaign logo for the 2016 US Presidential race, opinions were divided. Some criticized the design for its harsh angles, the insinuation of a right-pointing arrow and the fact that the arrow is red – the color of the party she seeks to defeat. Others liked the simplicity of the logo, read the arrow as pointing to the future and the color scheme as patriotic and appropriate.

We thought we'd get in on the controversy and asked our designers to give the hopeful candidate a hand in creating the perfect logo. Seventy-five designers from around the world submitted 190 alternative Hillary Clinton campaign logos. Here are six of our favorite designs. Congratulations to our winner
Voltgain's logo design retained the positive elements of the original design - the simple square shape and patriotic color scheme - and built upon it. The sweeping motion of the blue is reminiscent of a flag waving in the wind, and the star is a further subtle nod to the stars and stripes. The colors are not as jarring against each other as the original design and Clinton's own party color is in the limelight. There is movement and softer curves which make the logo appear more sympathetic, but its clean shape and execution keep it professional and strong.

This design works well on several levels. The colors complement each other beautifully and the movement of the circle creates interest and a point of focus. The circle also represents togetherness and enduring values, two qualities any presidential candidate would be happy to promote.
This design manages to take all the elements of the original design and re-imagine them in a clever way. You're not the only one who might see a guitar pick in this design! Having the "H" be represented by negative space draws focus to the color white, re-inforcing the idea of the patriotic color scheme. The red and blue pieces seem to hover next to each other as two pieces of a puzzle, which could denote a willingness to work together for the future.
This design moves away from the original logo in favour of a more dynamic option. The interweaving strands of two colors make for a beautiful representation of collaboration and unity while the movement of the letter shows spirit and optimism.
This design takes the elements of the original design, and re-arranges them in surprising ways. Pushing the square on its side to create a diamond shape creates movement and interest in the design, while the negative space arrow looks youthful and futuristic. An excellent choice for a candaidate looking ahead.
Quattro Creative's redux of the Hillary campaign logo is a self-contained logo that works well as an imprint on a web page or as a social media icon. It incorporates a star and flag theme and positions the Democrats liberal blue hue on top.
